Precious Metal Clay

“Clay” That Turns into Pure Silver or Gold

Silver and Gold Clay (PMC) are new materials for the new millennium.  Mitsubishi Corporation has developed this new material using precious metal in incredibly small particles, an organically based, non-toxic binder, and water.  The result is a soft workable material that can be shaped like clay and fired.  During firing, the binder burns off and the metal particles fuse to become pure silver or gold.  Unlike earlier versions of this product, silver PMC+ and PMC3 only shrink 10% during firing.  The range of textures is infinite.  Stones can be set in the clay and fired in place.  Anyone can make beautiful  jewelry with PMC.

In addition to making jewelry and small sculptures, PMC can be used to accent pottery and porcelain dolls.  The possibilities are endless. PMC is easy to use and eliminates the need to purchase many costly jewelers' tools.  Silver Clay can be fired in a programmable kiln or with such simple tools as a torch and soldering pad.

Private instruction, party classes, and workshops can be given at your home, art associations, studios, schools, bead and ceramic stores, jewelry and bead associations—almost anyplace that has a well ventilated room and sufficient working space for the students.  Ventilation is necessary for kiln or torch operation.
