Natural Gemstones You Can Fire-in-Place
There is always some risk when firing natural gemstones since each
stone is unique. However, Eye Clean gemstones with no visible inclusions of the following
types can usually be fired in place in PMC3 at 1110F. Faceted stones in the
Corundum family (sapphire & ruby) are the safest to fire-in-place as modern sapphires
are heat treated prior to faceting. They can be heated up to 1650F for 2 hours.

Garnet (all types, may darken when fired)
Green Tourmaline
